New Delhi: After BJP MP Nishikant Dubey claimed that the Lokpal has ordered a CBI probe against Mahua Moitra, the Trinamool MP in response said that the agency was welcome to "come and count my shoes".
In a post on X, Dubey said that the probe has been ordered against Moitra after he complained to the anti-corruption body over 'cash for query' allegations.
Hitting back, Moitra wrote on X that CBI should first file an FIR on the Rs13,000 crore Adani coal "scam".
"For media calling me -- my answer: CBI needs to first file FIR on ₹13,000 crore Adani coal scam; National security issue is how dodgy FPI owned (inc Chinese & UAE ) Adani firms buying Indian ports and airports with the home ministry's clearance. Then CBI welcome to come, count my shoes," she wrote.
"Very happy to know Modiji’s Lok Pal exists - & been spurred into action by specially bred pit bulls. Also Godi Media - why not ask Lok Pal’s office to release statement on referral. Bit humiliating for LP office to outsource such important announcements to canine farms, eh?" she further wrote.
Dubey in a social media post said, "On basis of my complaint, Lokpal has ordered a CBI probe into the Mahua Moitra's corruption that compromises national security."
Last month, Dubey complained about Moitra to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla alleging that the TMC MP accepted bribes from businessman Darshan Hiranandani to ask questions in parliament on his behalf to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Adani Group.
The Ethics Committee of the Lok Sabha is probing the allegations.
The committee will meet on November 9 to adopt a draft report on the cash-for-query allegation against TMC MP.
