New Delhi: In yet another incident of drag and drive case, a man has been arrested for dragging a motorcycle by his speeding car for more than three kilometres, reported PTI citing Gurugram police. 


The report said that the driver allegedly ignored all attempts by other commuters to stop his vehicle. 


A video of the incident has also gone viral on social media where massive sparks can be seen under the car as it continues to drag the bike paying no heed to attempts made by other commuters to stop him. 






The car hit the motorcycle parked along the road on Wednesday night as a result of which the two-wheeler got stuck beneath it. The vehicle dragged it for three kilometres, police said as quoted by PTI. 


The motorcycle owner, who is a bouncer by profession, said the incident occurred around 11.30 pm when he was returning home from duty. He said that he narrowly escaped as he was standing near his motorcycle at the time of the incident. 


The driver of the car fled leaving his vehicle. Police contacted the owner of the motorcycle who filed a complaint.  


Based on the complaint of the motorcyclist, an FIR was registered against the car driver under sections 279 (rash driving), 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others), 427 (causing damage) of the Indian Penal Code at the Sector 65 police station, the report added. 


"We have arrested the accused identified as Sushant Mehta, a resident of Faridabad, and impounded his car. The accused works with a private firm in Sector 63," said Subhash Boken, the spokesperson of Gurugram Police, quoted PTI.

Earlier in January, the country was shocked after news of a girl being dragged for about 12 Km in Delhi’s Kanjhawala made headlines. Anjali Singh, a 20-year-old woman was killed after her scooty collided with a Baleno car in Delhi's Dwarka and was dragged by the car for about 12 kilometres during the early hours of January 1.. Anjali was with her friend Nidhi on the scooty at the time of the accident. Nidhi fled the spot which raised several questions.  


On January 27, one person was killed and another hospitalised after a car rammed into a scooter and dragged a rider on its roof for around 350m in Delhi. According to a report by ANI, the incident took place after a car rammed into a scooty and dragged a rider on its roof for about 350 m when he landed on it after being thrown into the air due to the impact of the collision. 


A video of the incident has surfaced online after CCTV footage of the incident came to light and is going viral across the social media platforms.
