Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amrainder Singh's party will formally merge with the BJP upon his return from London, where he is recovering from lower back surgery, sources informed ABP. He is expected to return to India late next week, when the process of merger would begin.
Amrinder Singh launched a new political party, Punjab Lok Congress, after resigning from the Congress party following his resignation as CM late last year.

According to sources, the Congress stalwart from Punjab would merge his new party with the BJP.
According to the sources, after joining the saffron party, Capt Amrainder Singh may be appointed as the Vice-President.

Following Amrinder's departure last year, key Congress politicians close to him left the party and joined the BJP.
Former Punjab Pradesh Congress President (PPCC) and state minister Sunil Jakhar is among them, as are four top ministers from Captain's Cabinet: Raj Kumar Verka, a Dalit leader from Majha, Sundar Sham Arora, working president of the PPCC, and Balbir Singh Sidhu and Gurpreet Singh Kangar, both Jat-Sikh leaders.

When Captain returned from London, the specifics of his party's merger with the BJP would be sorted out.
