By-Poll Results 2022: Results of the high-decibel battle for five by-polls were declared on Saturday which was largely dominated by West Bengal where the Trinamool Congress won big in the Asansol and Ballygunge seats.
By-elections were conducted in Bengal's Asansol Lok Sabha seat, as well as assembly seats in Ballygunge, Chhattisgarh's Khairagarh, Bihar's Bochahan, and Maharashtra's Kolhapur North.
On March 12, this year, the Election Commission of India declared byelections for these seats. On the 16th of April, voting began at 8 a.m.

By-Poll Results 2022 | Key Developments
1. TMC won both the Asansol Lok Sabha constituency and the Ballygunge Assembly seat in what were possibly the most closely watched byelections.
2. Shatrughan Sinha, the TMC's nominee for the Asansol Lok Sabha constituency, easily won the bypoll. Sinha's victory is the party's first election victory in the Asansol constituency. TMC's Shatrughan Sinha has won the Asansol assembly seat with a margin of over 1 lakh votes.
3. Babul Supriyo of the TMC was elected to the Ballygunge Assembly seat. Babul Supriyo beat Saira Shah Halim, his nearest Left opponent, by a margin of 19,904 votes.
4. "CPI(M) didn't have anything for people, they stooped low during the campaign. Shatrughan Sinha won by a margin of over 1lakh votes & we'll work together with him. The results are a slap to BJP for their hubris & the way they demean Bengalis," TMC leader Babul Supriyo said.
5. Agnimitra Paul of the BJP stated on Saturday that the party has acknowledged loss in byelections to the Asansol Lok Sabha seat and the Ballygunge assembly constituency.
6. In Bihar, the opposition RJD snatched the Bochahan assembly seat from the ruling NDA, with its candidate beating the BJP nominee by more than 35,000 votes.
7. The RJD has declared victory in the Bochahan constituency in Bihar. According to the latest EC trends, the RJD has 48.5 per cent of the vote, while the BJP has 27 per cent.
8. Amar Paswan, whose father Musafir Paswan's death prompted the by-election, received 82,116 votes, while his closest BJP competitor Baby Kumari received just 45,353.
9. With 29,671 votes, expelled Bihar minister Mukesh Sahani's Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), on whose platform Musafir Paswan had won the seat in 2020, ended a distant third.
10. Congress wins the Khairagarh Assembly by-poll in Chhattisgarh by over 20,000 votes.
