A house collapsed near Valmiki mandir near Farshkhana at Lahori gate in Delhi on Sunday, news agency ANI reported. 

 

As per a statement by Delhi Police, "A total of 10 persons were admitted to hospital of whom, a 4-year-old female child was brought dead," ANI repoerted. 




"Many people got injured. A 4-year-old girl has died. Rescue operation is underway. 5 teams of NDRF are present at the spot:" Shweta Chauhan, DCP, Central dist, Delhi, ANI reported. 

 

It was a two-storey building and was in a dilapidated condition, police official added. 




Additional Deputy Commissioner Police (ADGP) Central, Akshay Kaushal stated that the rescue operations are ongoing and so far ten people have been admitted to the hopsital, ANI reported. 




The Delhi fire service stated earlier, "A house collapsed near Delhi's Lahori gate. 5 tenders are on the spot. So far, 5 people have been rescued and taken to the hospital. The search for others is ongoing. 3-4 more people are thought to be trapped in debris,"  ANI reported. 










 

Director of the Delhi Fire Services Atul Garg said a call was received about a roof collapse in the Lahori Gate area around 7.30pm. Five fire tenders have been rushed to the spot. So far, five people have been shifted to the hospital. A rescue operation was underway to locate others, Hindustan Times reported.
