The session is going to be held in two parts: from January 29 to February 15 and March 8 to April 8.

It will begin with President Ram Nath Kovind addressing both the Houses of the Parliament on the first day at 11 AM and after that, the Economic Survey is expected to be presented. The 5th session of the 17th Lok Sabha will have 35 sittings: 11 in the first part and 24 in the second.

Union Finance Nirmala Sitharaman is slated to present the Union Budget at 11 am on February 1.

One of the key legislation that is expected to be taken up for consideration in the Budget session includes the much-talked-about Personal Data Protection Bill. Previously, a joint committee was set up to review the same.

Meanwhile, opposition parties may finally get the opportunity to raise the matter of farmers' protest agitating against agrarian laws at the borders of the national capital. The hit to economy and employment amid Coronvirus-induced circumstances may also be discussed - bringing back the apathetic memory of migrants walking back to their native regions during the nationwide lockdown.

Parliament will adjourn on February 15 for various Standing Committees to consider the Demands for Grants of Ministries/Departments and prepare their reports, to reconvene on March 8.
