The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on Monday issued a whip to all its Rajya Sabha MPs to be present in the House and vote against a bill to replace the ordinance on Delhi services. "All the MPs of BRS (Rajya Sabha) are requested to vote against the bill to replace the Ordinance on Delhi Services, any time brought before the House," the party said in a statement, as quoted by the news agency PTI. The BRS has seven MPs in the Upper House.

They all have been asked to be present in the House from July 31 to August 4 and till the voting on the bill is over, the statement added. The Government of NCT of Delhi (Amendment) Ordinance aims to take away the control over services from the Delhi government.

Meanwhile, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said that the Delhi ordinance will not be tabled in the Parliament on Monday as it has not been mentioned in the List of Businesses. Talking to reporters minutes before the resumption of House proceedings, Joshi said that the government will inform whenever the ordinance is introduced. This comes amid speculations that the Centre might table the ordinance on Monday. AAP MP Raghav Chadha meanwhile, termed the ordinance 'most undemocratic and illegal exercise by the BJP'.

"We will inform you when it (Delhi Ordinance Bill) will be introduced. It is not mentioned in the List of Businesses today...No-confidence motion will be brought within 10 working days," the minister added.

Earlier on Thursday, the Janata Dal (United) issued a three-lined whip to the party's Rajya Sabha MPs for the Monsoon session of Parliament to support the party's stand by voting against the Centre's Bil over Delhi Services. Deputy Chairman Harivansh has received a party whip for the first time during his entire tenure, his office told ANI. Aneel Prasad Hegde, Chief Whip of JD(U) in the Rajya Sabha, said all MPs have been issued a whip.
