Soon after the MHA decided to ban internet at various borders of Delhi due to surging farmers' protest, Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Naresh Tikait said that the move will not affect the agitation. Tikait took to Twitter and wrote in Hindi: "If the government thinks that 'internet shutdown' in Haryana under the garb of Digital India will affect the farmers' movement, it is their illusion. The government must leave its tenet."
Addressing the protesters in Gazipur, BKU leader Rakesh Tikait, whose emotional appeal had galvanised farmers from Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand to flock to the protest site, said they have fought this battle for over two months now, and "they won't relent or retreat".
"The movement was and is strong," BKU's Meerut Zone president Pawan Khatana said, a day after tens of thousands of farmers from politically sensitive western Uttar Pradesh had gathered in Muzaffarnagar to participate in a mahapanchayat in a massive outpouring of support for the Bharatiya Kisan Union-led protest.
Agitating farmer leaders held a day-long fast at various protest sites on Delhi's borders on Mahatma Gandhi's death anniversary on Saturday as the stir against the agri laws appeared to regain momentum after rallying support from the agricultural community of the crucial western Uttar Pradesh region.

The Indian Ambassador in Israel has assured the Government of Israel that the Indian Government is taking all necessary actions following the blast near Delhi's Israeli embassy. A major scuffle erupted at the Singhu border between the protesting farmers and a group of people who claimed be to be locals demanding the clearance of the site. A team of police officials is meeting BKU Spokesperson Rakesh Tikait. As per early information, they enquired about his health as he was said to have high blood pressure in the high-octane drama that occurred in the evening. Further detail about their conversation is yet to be revealed.

The Special Cell of Delhi Police on Thursday took over the investigation into the violence that broke out in the national capital on R-Day after the proposed tractor rally by the farmers went awry, and slapped the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act on the rioters, besides invoking sections of the IPC dealing with sedition.
The Ghaziabad administration has given an ultimatum to protesting farmers to vacate UP Gate by Thursday midnight or else they would be removed, officials said. Violence continues at ITO in central Delhi, tractors being driven by protestors deliberately try to run over police personnel. Several protesters received injuries during the clash between protesting farmers and Police. Protesting farmers reached hhere after diverting from their prescribed route of march.
Meanwhile, a Delhi Police personnel was rescued by protesters as one section of protesters attempted to assault him at ITO in central Delhi.

"Rally is going on peacefully. I don't have any knowledge of it. We are at Ghazipur and are releasing the traffic here," says Rakesh Tikait, Spokesperson, Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) when asked about incidents of violence at some locations, during the tractor rally.
The tractor parade by farmers ahs turned violent after the protestors broke barricades across the national capital and indulged in a scuffle with the Delhi Police. The security forces resorted to tear gas to keep the situation control. The violent protest is currently out of hand as police have moved out from the roads as Farmers are breaking the barricades with JCB machines and marching towards the Red Fort.
The farmers have earlier said that the protest would be peaceful maintaining the decorum of Republic Day celebrations following the route approved by Delhi Police. Farmers started their rally ahead of the scheduled time and have taken different routes that were not decided earlier.

We requested Delhi Police officials again but no mid-ground was found. We've asked them to speak with their seniors & if they agree to our routes, it will be good. We will hold the tractor parade at the routes decided earlier, he added.
NCP supremo Sharad Pawar and Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat have reached the site of agitation and will address protesters in the afternoon.
After the rally, the farmers and leaders shall take out a procession to Raj Bhavan and submit a memorandum to Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari with their list of demands pertaining to farmers and workers, said All India Kisan Sabha President Dr. Ashok Dhawale.
