PM Modi Address Nation: In a milestone announcement, PM Narendra Modi said that the central government will repeal the three farm laws.
While addressing the name of the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the withdrawal of three new agricultural laws on the occasion of Guru Parv and Kartik Purnima. The Prime Minister, while apologizing to the countrymen said that "there must have been some deficiency in our penance."
He said that some farmers could not be convinced. "Today is the holy festival of Guru Nanak Dev. This is not the time to blame anyone. Today I have come to inform the whole country that it has been decided to withdraw three agricultural laws."
He said that by the end of this month, the three will start the constitutional process of withdrawing the agriculture laws Along with this, PM Modi has appealed to the people sitting on the movement to return home on Prakash Parv.
PM Modi said – could not convince the farmers
"It is also very good that after a gap of one and a half years, the Kartarpur Sabih Corridor has now reopened." He said that the government has seen so many challenges very closely and that farmers are their top priority.
PM Modi said that 80 out of a hundred are farmers, who have 2 hectares. The number of such farmers is more than 10 crores. The basis of his whole life is this small piece of land and on this basis he makes a living for himself and his family.
PM Modi said that along with good quality seeds, the government has also linked urea, soil health card and micro irrigation. He said that we have given 22 crore soil health cards.
It is to be noted that all the three new agricultural laws were passed by Parliament on 17 September 2020. Since then, there was a constant demand from farmer organizations to withdraw these laws by protesting.
Farmers' organizations argued that through this law, the government would abolish the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and leave them at the mercy of industrialists. Whereas, the government argued that through these laws new investment opportunities would be created in the agriculture sector and the income of farmers would increase. Even after several rounds of talks with the government, an agreement could not be reached on this. The farmers were protesting against these laws by sitting on the agitation around the borders of Delhi.
