Shopian (ANI): One unidentified person was killed during cross-firing between terrorists and security forces at Babapora area of Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district, on Sunday.
According to a statement issued by Jammu and Kashmir Police, an encounter between the security forces and terrorists broke out at around 10:30 am when terrorists attacked a Naka party of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Babapora.
"Around 1030 hours today, unidentified terrorists attacked a CRPF personnel at Babapora, Shopian. CRPF troops retaliated the fire and during cross-firing, one unidentified person was killed," said the statement. Further details are being ascertained, the police said.

Srinagar, Oct 24 (PTI) Two people died while as many were rescued after they were trapped in snowfall in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Sunday, taking the death toll due to inclement weather to five.
Last night, stranded persons at Sinthan Pass in south Kashmir district were rescued, they said.
The rescue team of civil, police army and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) officials traversed 30 km through snow-covered and foggy terrain, aided by machinery and walked for 8 km to reach the location, the officials said.
"At 0500 hours on October 24, one body was located on the spot, while another person died during the trip back," they said.
Two people survived and are being treated for hypothermia and shock, the officials added.
Parts of the valley, especially the higher reaches in south Kashmir, received moderate to heavy snowfall on Saturday.
The snowfall and rains, which started late on Friday night, triggered a mudslide that hit a tent set up by nomads in Noorpora in Tral area of Pulwama district, leaving three people, including two women dead, and one critically injured, they said.
The nomads belonged to Reasi district in the Jammu Division, the officials added.

On the second day of his three-day visit, the Union Home Minister will be in Jammu and is likely to meet BJP workers at the party office and then hold a public rally in Bhagwati Nagar.
He is expected to interact with various delegations on Sunday as a part of the Union government’s outreach programme.
It was a day of heavy rain and snow in several parts of the Valley. If the weather holds, he will visit Jammu on Sunday to address a public rally and return to Srinagar, the officials said, as reported by PTI.

In another update, Ashish Mishra, son of union minister Ajay Mishra Teni and the main accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, is reportedly suffering from dengue and has been hospitalised.
According to IANS sources, Ashish's health deteriorated and he had to be admitted to the jail hospital.
Ashish who was taken on police remand on Friday, had complained of fever and his blood reports on Saturday confirmed that he was suffering from dengue.
He was admitted to the jail hospital at 10.p.m on Saturday after his condition deteriorated.
Ashish Mishra was arrested in connection with the violence that was triggered after he allegedly ran his car over protesting farmers in Tikunia in Lakhimpur Kheri.
Four farmers were mowed down by an SUV in Lakhimpur Kheri when a group agitating against the Centre's three new farm laws was staging a demonstration against the visit of UP deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on October 3.
Two BJP workers, a driver and a journalist were killed in the violence that followed.
Meanwhile, three more persons were arrested on Saturday in connection with the case, taking the total number of arrests to 13.
