AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday said, "Out of 403 seats (under Bhagidari Sankalp Morcha), we will contest about 100 seats."

Authorities served show cause' notices to 21 employees who were found absent during a surprise visit at government offices in Kishtwar district on Friday, officials here said.
The visits were made by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Sham Lal to check attendance in the government offices, they said.
A total of 21 employees were found absent without leave, while district drug control office was found locked during his visit, they said.
As a consequence, the ADDC served show-cause notice to these 21 employees and ordered withholding of their salaries, the officials said.
He ordered the concerned officers to seek explanation from the absentees within three days and initiate future action against them, they said.
The North Goa district administration on Friday banned all physical rallies, roadshows and padyatras until January 31 in order to contain the spread of Covid-19 in the coastal state.
An order issued by North Goa District Magistrate Ajit Roy on Friday stated that "no physical rally of political parties and candidates (including probable or any other group related to the elections) shall be allowed till January 31. No roadshow, padyatra, cycle/bike/vehicle rally and procession shall be allowed till January 31".
"Door-to-door campaigning shall be allowed for a maximum of 10 persons, including candidates (excluding security personnel), and political parties, candidates and party workers shall ensure the compliance of Covid appropriate behaviour," the order added.

The Metro trains in Delhi will run as per their routine weekend timetable from Saturday as the national capital has eased Covid-19 restrictions in view of an improvement in the number of infections, officials said. So far, the Metro services were regulated at a 15-minute gap frequency on the Yellow and Blue lines, and 20 minutes on all other lines to comply with the weekend curfew that was lifted on Thursday.
The weekend curfew in Delhi had been imposed from January 8 onwards when the Omicron-dominated third wave started skyrocketing in the capital city.
“In view of the latest guidelines issued by the Govt. for the containment of Covid-19 in NCT Delhi, Metro services on weekends (Sat/Sun) will again resume as per routine weekend time table on all Lines starting tomorrow i.e, 29th January 2022,” the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) tweeted.

The campaigning for the upcoming Assembly polls has intensified as the day of the election comes near. Uttar Pradesh will witness its first phase of elections on February 10 2022. Akhilesh Yadav and Jayant Chaudhary were to address a joint press conference in Muzaffarnagar on Friday, but Akhilesh's helicopter was not allowed to take off from Delhi and thus the presser was delayed.

In other news, ahead of the upcoming assembly election, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday declared assets worth Rs 4,847.78 crores in the financial year 2019-20, which is the highest among all political parties in the country, according to a report by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR).
“Among the seven national parties, the highest assets for the FY 2019-20 were declared by BJP amounting to Rs 4,847.78 crore (69.37 percent) followed by BSP which declared assets worth Rs 698.33 crore (9.99 percent) and INC declared assets worth Rs 588.16 crore (8.42 percent),” the report added.
Meanwhile, India's free trade agreement talks with UK have been concluded.
