PM Modi and French President Macron will visit the Jantar Mantar, the famous solar observatory established by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh, in Jaipur today.


It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in July 2010. It includes a set of eighteen instruments and is the biggest stone observatory in the world. It consists of various instruments which include the Laghu Samrat Yantra which is a Sun Dial that can help to calibrate local time to an accuracy of 20 seconds.


President Macron is on a two-day state visit to India.

A major fire which broke out at an industrial complex in Goregaon area of Mumbai raged for nearly 13 hours before it was doused on Thursday morning, officials said.


A 25-year-old man suffered 10 to 15 per cent burn injuries in the blaze which erupted at around 8 pm on Wednesday at Asmi Industrial Complex near Ram Mandir railway station, a civic official said.


He was admitted to the civic-run Trauma Care Hospital in Jogeshwari and his condition was stable, the official told PTI.

Republic Day 2024: French President Macron To Arrive In Jaipur Today


French President Emmanuel Macron will kick-start his two-day trip to India on Thursday by visiting Jaipur's stunning hilltop fort of Amber, iconic Hawa Mahal and astronomical observation site of Jantar Mantar.


Macron will be the chief guest at the 75th Republic Day celebrations on January 26 at Delhi's Kartavya Path that would make him the sixth leader from France to grace the prestigious annual extravaganza.


In his nearly six-hour stay in Jaipur, Macron will also join Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a road show before the two leaders hold wide-ranging talks at luxury hotel Taj Rambagh Palace on all key aspects of bilateral India-France ties and various geopolitical upheavals.


The PMO said in a statement that Modi will welcome Macron at around 5.30 pm, and the two leaders will visit various places of cultural and historical significance in the city, including Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal and Albert Hall Museum.


The French president's aircraft is scheduled to land at Jaipur airport at 2.30 pm on Thursday and he will depart for Delhi at around 8.50 pm, according to the Ministry of External Affairs.


PM Modi To Address Himachal Pradesh's Youth On January 25


Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the youth of Himachal Pradesh on January 25 and arrangements for its live broadcast have been made, BJP state president Rajiv Bindal said.


Bindal said January 25 holds great significance for Himachal Pradesh, which celebrates it as the statehood day. The day is also celebrated as Constitution Day in India, he said.


Screens will be set up at 68 locations across all legislative assembly constituencies of the state for the prime minister's address, he said.


The state BJP chief urged youths between 18 and 25 years to listen to the prime minister's address on Thursday. "PM Modi has been an inspiration for the youth and over the past nine and a half years, he has worked for the development of the country," Bindal said.


Noida Police Issues Traffic Advisory For Jan 25, Diversions Likely On Expressways


The Gautam Buddh Nagar police on Tuesday issued a traffic advisory, cautioning commuters of possible diversions on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and the Yamuna Expressway briefly on January 25.


However, emergency vehicles will be exempted from any diversions, the police said.


According to officials, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Bulandshahr on January 25 for a BJP programme, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also in attendance along with a host of state ministers and party leaders.


"The general public is informed that on Thursday (January 25), the tour programme of a very distinguished dignitary is proposed in Bulandshahr district. In view of this, in case of any emergency in Commissionerate Gautam Buddh Nagar, traffic could be diverted on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and the Yamuna Expressway for a short time," the police said in an advisory.
