A 65-year-old lady died and 135 others were hospitalised in a suspected incidence of food poisoning in Hoskote, Bengaluru Rural limits, on Monday, according to authorities, news agency PTI reported. They identified the dead as Siddagangamma, a resident of Kaveringar in Hoskote. Police believe the source of the food illness was an edible donation at a nearby house of worship. Some of those admitted to the hospital have been released, while others are still being treated. The Health Department is keeping a close eye on the issue.

The Border Security Force apprehended two drug smugglers from Amritsar who were sent a consigment from a Pakistani drone.

At about 1215 hrs on 24th Dec, the movement of two suspected smugglers was observed in a farming field, accompanied by the distinct sound of a consignment dropped by a Pakistani drone."
"Both smugglers were apprehended by BSF troops as they attempted to flee with a consignment of heroin that was wrapped with yellow adhesive tape and with an attached ring weighing 525 grams. Upon the disclosure of the arrested smugglers, a third accomplice was also apprehended," it added.

Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Expansion On Dec 25: CM Mohan Yadav
The new Madhya Pradesh cabinet will be expanded on Monday, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said.
"The oath-taking ceremony of the new cabinet will take place at 3:30 pm tomorrow (Monday)," Yadav told reporters after meeting BJP president JP Nadda in New Delhi on Sunday evening.
He, however, refused to divulge details like the number of inductees in the council of ministers.
The MP cabinet headed by Yadav has two deputy chief ministers- Rajendra Shukla and Jagdish Devda.
The maximum strength of the council of ministers in Madhya Pradesh, which has 230 MLAs, can be 35, including the CM.
"After clinching a landslide victory under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our double engine government will move ahead under his leadership and that of JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah," Yadav said.
Preparations for the oath-taking ceremony are underway at Raj Bhawan.
PM Modi To Virtually Distribute Dues Of Hukumchand Mill Workers In Indore On Dec 25
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually address a programme and distribute dues worth Rs 224 crore pertaining to workers of Hukumchand Mill in Indore on Monday.
The PM will participate in 'Mazdooron Ka Hit, Mazdooron ko Samarpit' event to be held at Kankeshwari ground via video conference and hand over a cheque of Rs 224 crore, an official release said.
This programme will mark the settlement of long pending demands of the workers. As many as 4,800 workers will benefit due to the disbursal of dues, it said.
The workers of the Hukumchand Mill fought a long legal battle for the payment of their dues after the mill in Indore was closed in 1992, and went into liquidation.
On the initiative of the Madhya Pradesh government, the state Housing & Infrastructure Development Board and labour union sealed an agreement and the settlement amount was deposited in the High Court on December 20, as per the release.
