Tragedy struck Sadhana colony in Jamnagar, Gujarat, as a building collapse resulted in the loss of three lives and left five individuals injured. The Gujarat Housing Board had declared the ill-fated apartment block unsafe, issuing repeated warnings against residing in it. Opposition To Kick Off 'Mission 2024' With Mega Meeting In Patna Today
In a massive show of unity ahead of the crucial parliamentary election next year, leaders of 15 opposition parties including chief ministers like Nitish Kumar, Mamata Banerjee, MK Stalin, and Arvind Kejriwal will meet on Friday in Patna, the capital city of Bihar.
For the last few months, Nitish Kumar has been making efforts to stitch an alliance of opposition parties to stop the BJP juggernaut led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
A day before the crucial deliberations, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee asserted that the Opposition parties will fight together "like a family" to take on the NDA "one to one". Leaders of 15 parties including half-a-dozen chief ministers are expected to attend the deliberations, as per PTI.
Home Minister Amit Shah To Visit Jammu And Kashmir Today
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Jammu and Kashmir on June 23 and 24 during which he will attend various development programmes in Jammu and Srinagar, PTI reported.
The home minister will begin his tour of the Union Territory by laying wreaths on the statue of BJP ideologue and Bhartiya Jana Sangha founder Syama Prasad Mookerjee in Jammu on Friday morning.
After that, Shah will lay the foundation stone of the Central Forensic Sciences Laboratory at Samba. He will also inaugurate and lay foundation stones of various development schemes in the city, according to PTI.
JP Nadda To Address Public Rally In Odisha's Bhawanipatna Today
BJP president JP Nadda on Thursday arrived in Jharsuguda on a two-day visit to Odisha.
On Friday, Nadda will visit Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district, and offer prayers at the Maa Manikeswari temple. He will then address a rally at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium. He is also scheduled to meet prominent persons of the Kalahandi Lok Sabha seat at Bhawanipatna.
He had last visited the state in December last year, and addressed public meetings at Tumudibandha in Kandhamal district and Chilika in Khurda district.
