Two men were killed and 20 students injured after a school bus taking children on an educational tour rammed into a truck in Rajasthan's Pali district on Thursday, police said, as reported by news agency PTI. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and BJP state president CP Joshi have expressed grief over the accident.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested from Goa for allegedly killing his friend over one-and-a-half years ago in west Delhi's Dwarka, police said on Thursday, as reported by news agency PTI. The accused, identified as Alok Verma, was declared a proclaimed offender last year and was carrying a reward of Rs 50,000, they added.
The incident took place on May 30, 2022, when the complainant, Verma, Shivam and Sanjay -- all of whom used to work as security guards -- were consuming alcohol, Special Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Singh Yadav said.
Six people, including a woman, were arrested on Thursday for allegedly beating a 21-year-old Dalit man to death after keeping him confined in a house in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar, police said, news agency PTI reported.

The Supreme Court on Thursday agreed to hear on January 12 a plea of union minister of state for home affairs Nisith Pramanik seeking anticipatory bail in an attempt-to-murder case lodged against him in 2018. Pramanik has moved the apex court challenging the January 4 order of the Jalpaiguri Circuit Bench of the Calcutta High Court by which it had refused to grant him anticipatory bail in the case.During the brief hearing, Patwalia said, I am a Member of Parliament. Delhi Court To Decide On Closure Of POCSO Case Against Brij Bhushan Tomorrow
A Delhi court has deferred the pronouncement of order on whether to accept Delhi Police’s cancellation report for a sexual harassment case lodged by a minor wrestler against former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh to January 11, 2024.
Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Chhavi Kapoor of Patiala House Courts adjourned the matter by saying the order is not ready.
The police's cancellation report was filed on June 15, and was not opposed by the complainant during the last hearing.
On August 1, the purported victim and her father had expressed their satisfaction with the police investigation, raising no objection to the police's report in the case.
They had recorded their statement in an in-chamber proceeding before ASJ Kapoor.
Bangladesh’s New Cabinet Is To Be Sworn In On Thursday
Bangladesh’s new Cabinet is expected to take oath on Thursday, a day after the newly-elected parliament members are to be sworn in, officials said.
“President Mohammad Shahabuddin will administer the ministers’ oath of office on Thursday,” a Bangabhaban presidential palace spokesman said.
Meanwhile, Cabinet Secretary Mahbub Hossain said Members of Parliament-elect were sworn in on Wednesday at the Jatiya Sangsad, where parliamentary speaker Shirin Sharmin Choudhury administered the ceremony.
The ruling Awami League headed by Prime Minister Hasina won 222 seats; the Jatiya Party 11 seats; the Workers' Party, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, and Bangladesh Kalyan Party one seat each; and independent candidates won 61 seats.
