The union territory of Puducherry was coronavirus-free for a second straight day with nil active cases and no fresh infections being reported from any of its four regions in the last 24 hours, a senior official of Department of Health said on Friday.
As many as 200 samples were tested during the last 24 hours ending 10 AM Friday and no new infections were detected, Director of Health G Sriramulu said in a release here.
There were no active cases in the union territory, he added.
The test positivity rate was zero while the fatality and recovery rates remained 1.18 per cent and 98.82 per cent respectively, he said.
The overall caseload stood at 1,65,774 and total recoveries also stood at 1,63,812, Sriramulu said.
The death toll was 1,962 as nil fatalities were recorded in the last 24 hours.
A teacher asked PM Modi how will the National Education Police help in nation-building?
PM Modi said that the NEP will give students various options to choose their path. The Prime Minister said that there are various fields where students want to contribute and make a career out of it and one them is sports. Earlier, sports was not even a subject at every school, but NEP will help students enroll themselves in courses related to sports and will provide guidance to them to move towards the right path. He said that earlier, when one student chose medical stream he/she would have to follow the same path further but NEP will give them an opportunity to choose courses according to their likings. The Prime Minister also said that NEP will not only provide multiple courses but will enhance the skills of the students which will contribute towards nation building.
Students asked PM Modi about how to deal with distractions during online education:
Giving a hilarious spin to the question, PM Modi asked the students whether those who read online, do they really face difficulting in reading or they just stare at the screen and their mind is somewhere else. He said that if that is the case then the mode of study is not the issue but the mind is the problem. PM Modi said that digital education is the need of the hour so one should not avoid it but take it as a source of additional information. He said that once the students are done with their offline classes they can use the online modes for things they missed out on or couldn't understand properly. He said that students that after online and offline education students should focus on "inner lines" and learn about themselves. It will help them focus on their studies and bring clarity to various aspects of life.
Students asked PM Modi about the exam fever and how to deal with it. They also raised questions that how to deal with the disappointment of their parents when they score fewer marks.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi Narendra Modi said that this is not the first time the students will be giving the exams so they should not be scared of it, in fact, they should rejoice that they have reached so far. He added that students should not worry about the topics when the exams are near but revise and prepare those at which they are good so they become confident in what they have learned. PM Modi said that keep your schedule simple and with time management you can cover the topics which are important.

PM Modi said that the theme of the session today is how to look at exams as a celebration and festival and to add festival colours to the examination so students don't stress during the time instead enjoy.

EAM S Jaishankar To Meet Russian Counterpart
In a first high-level visit, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov landed in New Delhi on Thursday evening to hold talks with Indian counterpart S. Jaishankar over crude oil offer, rupee-ruble payment and arms deals.
Lavrov's visit comes amid strong pressure from the West and its allies on India to take a stronger stand against Russia, which has been at war with Ukraine for over a month now.
According to reports, Lavrov would be meeting Jaishankar on Friday afternoon and by 5.50 p.m. he would be flying for Moscow. Some reports also suggest that the Russian minister would also meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday. There has been no official confirmation from the government about the same.

A defiant Imran Khan on Thursday indicated that he will not resign from the post of Pakistan's prime minister despite losing the majority in the National Assembly and insisted that he will face the vote of no-confidence which would take place on Sunday.
Khan needs 172 votes in the lower house of 342 to foil the Opposition's bid to topple him. However, the Opposition claims it has the support of 175 lawmakers and the prime minister should immediately resign.
Delhi, Maharashtra, Bengal To Lift Covid Curbs From Today
With a significant decline in daily Covid-19 infections and total active caseload across the country, several states - including Maharashtra, Delhi and West Bengal - will remove all restrictions from April 1, two years after the Coronavirus pandemic curbs were clamped.
While Maharashtra has decided to lift all Covid-19 restrictions, including no restrictions on public movement, Delhi stated that there will be no fine for not wearing face masks in public places.
Even Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government announced that all Covid-induced restrictions in the state would stand withdrawn from midnight.
