Former Jharkhand chief minister Raghubar Das has been designated as the Governor of Odisha, according to a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique on Wednesday.

The mortal remains of the brave cadet were provided with full military honours at the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, wherein a wreath was laid by Vice Admiral Ajay Kochhar, AVSM, NM, Commandant, National Defence Academy. The NDA fraternity offers its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family in this hour of grief," reads the statement released by the Defence PRO Pune.

Pakistan on Wednesday said that it successfully conducted the flight test of Ababeel Weapon System. The army in a statement said that the test flight was aimed at re-validating various design, technical parameters and performance evaluation of different subsystems of the weapon system, reported PTI.
No details about the missile system have been provided by the army.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau has arrested a peon with the Thane district collectorate in Maharashtra and two other men in a case of bribery, ACB officials said on Wednesday, as reported by the news agency PTI. The 45-year-old peon allegedly made a demand of Rs 5,000 from a person for speeding up work under the RTI and Rs 1 lakh to facilitate the extension of time on an attachment order, an ACB official said in a release.

President Murmu Embarks On 3-Day Visit To Bihar
President Droupadi Murmu is set to embark on a three-day visit to Bihar from Wednesday to attend a host of programmes. The President will be launching the fourth Krishi Road Map (2023-2028) of Bihar in Patna today, read a statement issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday. The following day, President Murmu will attend the first convocation of Mahatma Gandhi Central University in Motihari and later in the day, she will interact with the members of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) of Bihar at the Raj Bhavan, as reported by news agency PTI.
The President will also attend the first convocation of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Patna.
On the third day of her visit, President Murmu will visit Gaya and attend the third convocation of the Central University of South Bihar.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday posted TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu’s anticipatory bail petition in the Amaravati Inner Ring Road Scam case to Wednesday.
The said case pertains to the alleged manipulation of the master plan of the capital city of Amaravati, the alignment of the inner ring road and the alleged use of the seed capital to offer undue enrichment to several companies during Naidu's regime.
The Andhra Pradesh Police CID filed its counter to Naidu’s anticipatory bail petition on Monday.
Verdict In Soumya Vishwanathan Case To Be Delivered Today
After 15 years of the death of the television journalist Soumya Vishwanathan, a Delhi court will give its verdict in the case on Wednesday. Additional Sessions Judge Ravindra Kumar Pandey reserved the judgment on October 13 after the completion of arguments by both the defence and prosecution.
Vishwanathan was shot dead on September 30, 2008, when she was returning home from work in her car around 3:30 am. Police claimed that the motive behind her murder was robbery.
Five men -- Ravi Kapoor, Amit Shukla, Baljeet Malik, Ajay Kumar and Ajay Sethi -- were arrested for killing her and all of them have been in custody since March 2009.
Police had invoked the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against the accused in the case.
