PM Modi To Lay Foundation Stone, Dedicate 274 Railway Projects In Odisha On Tuesday


Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to lay foundation stone and dedicate various railway projects worth over Rs 85,000 crore including projects in Odisha on Tuesday, an official said.


This was stated by East Coast Railway Additional General Manager Mohesh Kumar Behera at a press conference here on Monday.


Behera said the prime minister will hold these functions at 764 locations across India. "During the occasion, the prime minister will dedicate and lay the foundation stone for 274 railway projects in Odisha", he said.


These projects include 162 Electronic Interlocking systems, 41 One Station One Product (OSOP) stalls, 50 Solar power stations, five goods sheds, nine new line, doubling and third line projects, four auto signalling systems, one GatiSakti terminal, one Jan Ausadhi Kendra and one rail coach restaurant, Behera said.


PM Modi To Flag Off J’khand's 3rd Vande Bharat Express On Tuesday


Jharkhand is all set to get third Vande Bharat Express train, which will be flagged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually on Tuesday, an official said.


The regular run of the Ranchi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express will begin on March 18.


The PM will also inaugurate the Hatia-Asansol-Hatia Express and doubling of Ranchi-Bondamunda railway line and stalls under One Station One Product scheme at Ranchi, Hatia, Govindpur Road, Itki, Muri, Piska, Silli, Tangarbasuli, Tatisilwai stations, Barkakana, Ranchi Road and Pradhan Khanta stations under different railway divisions in Jharkhand, the official said.


The PM will also inaugurate Gatishakti Cargo Terminal at HURL Sindri in Dhanbad district and North Urimari under Barka-Sayal area of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) in Ramgarh district.


Delhi HC To Hear On Tuesday Plea By Congress In Tax Recovery Case


The Delhi High Court on Monday said it would hear on March 12 a petition by the Congress challenging an order by the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal refusing to grant stay on a notice issued by the tax department for recovery of outstanding tax of more than Rs 105 crore.


The matter was listed before a bench of justices Yashwant Varma and Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav. It said it would hear the matter on March 12 as the court needs to go through the documents.


The Congress approached the high court after the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) on March 8 dismissed the party's application seeking a stay on the February 13 notice of the Income Tax Department initiating recovery proceedings against it.
