PM Modi To Inaugurate India Energy Week In Goa Today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate India Energy Week 2024 in Goa on Tuesday and also dedicate to the nation the permanent campus of the National Institute of Technology apart from laying foundation stones for various projects costing more than Rs 1,330 crore.
Modi will also address Viksit Bharat, Viksit Goa 2047 programme.
The PM will inaugurate the ONGC Sea Survival Centre at Betul village in South Goa at 10:30 am and inaugurate India Energy Week. He will participate in the Viksit Bharat, Viksit Goa 2047 programme at Fatorda in the afternoon, as per a release issued by the Prime Minister's Office.
The Energy Week will be India's largest and only all-encompassing energy exhibition and conference expected to be attended by around 17 energy ministers from different countries.
"Achieving 'aatmanirbharta' (self-reliance) in energy requirements has been a key focus area of the prime minister. In yet another step in this direction, India Energy Week 2024 will be held from February 6 to 9 in Goa," the PMO said.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' is likely to reach the state on February 6, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) President Sarat Patnaik said.
Patnaik stated that Rahul Gandhi will be welcomed by the party leaders at Birmitrapur in Sundargarh.
“Gandhi is scheduled to reach Birmitrapur in Sundargarh district tentatively on February 6 night. A road show of Gandhi will be organised in Rourkela, from Rajgangpur to Sundargarh via Bargaon, Uttara. Gandhi will then reach Jharsuguda where he is likely to have the night halt on February 7. The next morning, the yatra will reach Brajarajnagar, Belpahar, Kanaktara before entering Chhattisgarh. We are preparing to receive him at Birmitrapur on February 6 night,” said Patnaik.
He also informed the media persons that Gandhi’s yatra will cover three organisational districts including Rourkela, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda in Western Odisha.
Navy To Commemorate Slain Merchant Sailors In Kolkata On Feb 6
The Indian Navy will commemorate the centenary of Lascars or merchant sailors who were killed during World War I on February 6 in Kolkata.
The function will take place at the Lascar Memorial which stands next to INS Netaji Subhas -- the naval headquarters of West Bengal -- along the banks of the Hooghly.
A Navy Spokesperson said that the West Bengal Governor will grace the occasion as Chief Guest.
“There will be a Talk on Maritime History as well as an Art and Philately Exhibition,” he said.
He said that the cultural events will include an Odissi recital and the Hornpipe Dance.
