A fire broke out at Delhi's Uphaar Cinema Hall Sunday morning, a PTI report quoted an official.
No injuries have been reported in the fire that affected the theatre's balcony and a floor.
A call about the blaze was received at 4:46 am and nine fire tenders were rushed to the spot, said Delhi Fire Service Director Atul Garg.
The seats, furniture, and rubbish in the cinema hall had caught fire, he said, adding the blaze was controlled around 7.20 am.
It is the same theatre where a massive fire incident on June 13, 1997 had killed 59 people and injured over 100.

"His visit has been deferred thrice due to COVID-19 related restrictions and other engagements of the party president. This time, he has given his consent to visit Tripura to address the party's conference. His visit is significant in the sense that the party is all set to fight multiple electoral battles just after his visit and the presence of the party's head at such a point in time will act as a morale boost for the party workers.

Clashes During Hanuman Jayanti Procession In Delhi
Clashes broke out between two communities during a Hanuman Jayanti procession in northwest Delhi's Jahangirpuri area on Saturday, leaving several Police personnel injured.
Police said there was stone-pelting and some vehicles were also torched in the violence that occurred at around 6 pm. Additional police forces have been rushed to Jahangirpuri and other communally sensitive areas.
Delhi Police PRO Anyesh Roy told news agency PTI that it was a traditional procession taken out on Hanuman Jayanti every year.
Delhi Records 461 Fresh COVID-19 Cases, 2 Deaths
Meanwhile, Delhi on Saturday recorded nearly 26 per cent jump in the number of COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours with a positivity rate of 5.33 per cent, according to the data provided by the city health department.
The city saw 461 fresh cases and two deaths. It had on Friday recorded 366 COVID-19 cases and zero death, and the positivity rate stood at 3.95 per cent.
Prashant Kishor To Join Congress, Briefs Party On Strategy For 2024
With the Congress reeling from a string of defeats, poll strategist Prashant Kishor on Saturday gave a detailed presentation to its top brass at a meeting chaired by Sonia Gandhi on the way forward for 2024 general elections, while expressing readiness to join the party.
AICC general secretary K C Venugopal said a decision on Kishor's suggestions, including on whether he will join the party, will be known in a week. There had been intense speculation in the past too on the possibility of Kishor joining the Congress including before the recent assembly polls.
