The report published on the website of Express tribune says Jehan will be fighting polls from PK-77 constituency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region. “My aim is to work for women empowerment. I would like to focus on the problems in my constituency,” she reportedly said.
Another report of Geo News said, "Noor Jahan will be contesting the election on a general seat from constituency PK-77. Although she belongs to Awami National Party, Jehan will be seeking vote as an independent candidate." Jehan’s brother Mansoor is reportedly leading her election campaign.
It further states that Jehan, paternal cousin of SRK, has visited the superstar twice in the past and both families still maintain a close bond.
Mansoor had told Dawn News in 2005 that Noor Jehan visited India in 1997 and stayed with the 52-year-old actor for two and a half months. He said that Shah Rukh was the first in the trader family to enter the film industry. His cousins are proud of Shah Rukh to have given them pride and recognition.
Taj Mohammad, father of Shah Rukh migrated to Delhi in the year 1946.
