Hours after a boat with three AK-47 rifles and bullets was found off the Raigad coast in Maharashtra, state Home Ministry informed that name of the said boat is "Ladyhan" and it is owned by a woman, Hana Lordorgan, an Australian citizen. Security was beefed up in Raigad and surrounding areas, however, a Coast Guard official has said there is no security threat. 


NIA team is going to the place where a cache of arms has been recovered from the boat in Raigad.


Officials have also said that all crew members of this boat had been rescued in June this year near the Oman coast. Arms vendor was contacted by officials and the serial numbers of the weapons found onboard match with the ones missing from the vendor's inventory.


Meanwhile, another boat was found near the Bharan Khol Kinara, in which a life jacket and some documents were found. No person was found in the second boat as well.

1. As per Mahastra Home Ministry, James Hobert is the captain of the said boat and it was going to Europe from Muscat. On June 26, 2022 at around 10.00 am, the boat's engine failed and sailors called for help at 13.00 hrs. A Korean warship rescued the sailors from the boat and handed them over to Oman.


2. "The boat found drifted off the Raigad coast is owned by an Australian woman. Some semi-automatic weapons have been found on it. Central agencies and the state police have started an investigation into the matter," Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said.


3. The boat "Ladyhan" could not be towed today as the sea was rough. The Indian Coast Guard has informed that currently the boat is stranded on the Harihareshwar coast due to the under current of the sea. 


4. Both the local police and the anti-terrorist squad (ATS) are investigating the incident and all the police units have been ordered to be alert in view of the upcoming festivals. The Indian Coast Guard and central agencies are in constant contact and further investigations are being carried out closely. 


5. Officials also said that the yacht was badly damaged and partly submerged after being battered by the monsoon winds. According to reports, the crew members of this boat had been rescued in June this year near the Oman coast.
