The Bharatiya Janata Party plans to hold a number of events around the country to commemorate Atal Bihari Vajpayee's 99th birthday. The statement was made by the BJP's National General Secretary on Friday, December 15. "Every year, the anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, also known as Good Governance Day, is widely celebrated. This year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to pay floral tributes to former Prime Minister Sadaiv Atal at the Sadaiv Atal memorial in New Delhi," he said in a letter shared by news agency ANI.






On December 25, Good Governance Day is held to commemorate Vajpayee's birth anniversary. It was founded in 2014 to recognise him for his efforts in raising public awareness.


Since 2014, the government has observed Good Governance Day every year. The day is observed to ensure that the country's people are treated equally by the government and have access to different government services.

The goal of Good Governance Day is to improve public access to government activities and services via good governance. It was founded under the tagline "Good Governance through e-Governance."


Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was born on December 25, 1924, in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. He was chosen as the country's prime minister three times. For the first time, he was elected Prime Minister of the country in 1996. He was re-elected Prime Minister for a second term in 1998-1999. He was elected prime minister for the third time on October 13, 1999. Notably, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the first head of state to speak before the United Nations in Hindi. On March 27, 2015, he received the "Bharat Ratna" award.
