New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain on Sunday responded to AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s “condoms” remark saying that Owaisi has become a ‘bayan purush’ and he just wants to create a controversy. Hussain further said that a low population is beneficial for society.

“Asaduddin Owaisi has become 'bayan purush', he wants to create a controversy. A low population is beneficial for society. The more the population grows the bigger the problem it creates. That should be kept in mind,” news agency ANI quoted Shahnawaz Hussain as saying.

Hussain’s reaction comes after Owaisi responded to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's statement that there's a religious imbalance in India saying that the Muslim population is not increasing.

"Don't fret, the Muslim population is not increasing, it's rather falling... Who's using condoms the most? We are. Mohan Bhagwat won't speak on this," ANI quoted Owaisi as saying.

Owaisi on Saturday said that he feels like Muslims are living in an open jail wherever there is a Bharatiya Janata Party government in the country

Citing instances of violence against the minority community, he also remarked that there is "more respect for street dogs than for Muslims". “Wherever there is a BJP govt in the country it feels like Muslims are living in an open jail....There is more respect for the road dog than Muslims,” ANI quoted Owaisi as saying during an event.

On Sunday, the AIMIM chief also reacted to the renaming of Tipu Express to Wodeyar Express. He took to Twitter and said that BJP will never be able to erase Tipu’s legacy.

Owaisi said that the ruler irks the BJP because "he waged 3 wars against its British masters". "Another train could have been named after Wodeyars. BJP will never be able to erase Tipu’s legacy," he added.
