BJP on Friday reiterated its demand that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal immediately resign from his post, saying that the Supreme Court has granted him only conditional bail in the excise policy case. BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said, "Arvind Kejriwal has become a 'Bail wale CM from jail wale CM'".

"After this judgment, Arvind Kejriwal should step down as Delhi CM immediately. However, Arvind Kejriwal won't do it because there's not even an iota of morality left in him. Kejriwal has got conditional bail and despite that he has been sitting on a Constitutional post," Bhatia added.

BJP IT Cell head Amit Malviya said the Supreme Court may have granted bail to Kejriwal but it has declined the plea challenging the legality of the arrest. "So, prima facie there is voluminous evidence against Kejriwal. It is only a matter of time before he is convicted and back in jail," he added.

Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva said one more member, Arvind Kejriwal, is now added to AAP's "Zamaanti club". "AAP leaders should read the judgment of Supreme Court very carefully. The court has clearly said that the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal was completely legal," Sachdeva said.

In a big relief to AAP ahead of the Haryana Assembly elections, the Supreme Court granted bail to Kejriwal in the case lodged by the CBI. The Enforcement Directorate arrested Kejriwal in connection with case on March 21 and he was subsequently arrested by the CBI in June.

A bench of Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan granted the bail to Kejriwal on a bail bond of ₹10 lakh and two sureties. The apex court said that prolonged incarceration amounts to unjust deprivation of liberty.
"We have framed three questions. Whether there was illegality in arrest, whether appellant should be allowed regular bail, whether filing of chargesheet is change in circumstance enough to relegate to TC," Justice Surya Kant said.
