Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lashed out at the opposition and said that they are completely directionless. The PM also compared the 'INDIA' alliance with the Britishers' East India Company and terror bodies like PFI. He said that the opposition's job is to protest and asked his party leaders to 'focus' on work. He said that India has to be made a developed country by 2047. He made the remarks at BJP's Parliamentary Party meeting on Tuesday.

"...As the Britishers came and named themselves East India Company, in the same way, the opposition is presenting itself in the name of India," the Prime Minister said while taking a jibe at the opposition. In a sharp attack, the Prime Minister further said that even terror organisations like 'Indian Mujahideen' and 'Popular Front of India (PFI)' have 'India' in them.

The parliamentary party meeting of the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) took place on Tuesday amid the opposition's demand for a discussion and PM Modi's statement on the Manipur issue.

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said that PM Modi told the BJP leaders that the opposition's conduct suggests it has decided to remain permanently in opposition for long, reported PTI.

Notably, the MPs of opposition parties held a sit-in protest against PM Narendra Modi-led government over the Manipur issue throughout Monday night which went on till Tuesday morning inside the Parliament premises.

Both Houses witnessed massive chaos and repeated adjournments as the opposition remained firm on its demand for a discussion over the Manipur viral video and sought PM Modi's statement on it inside the Parliament. AAP MP Sanjay Singh was on Monday suspended from the Rajya Sabha for 'obstructing' proceedings of the House that intensified opposition leaders' anger.

After the agitation, the opposition alliance - Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A) will meet at the office of Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge in Parliament on Tuesday to chalk out the strategy for the floor of the House.

AAP MP Sanjay Singh said on Tuesday, "We are sitting here since yesterday. Our only demand is that PM Modi should speak on the Manipur issue. We will keep protesting here and I am still requesting PM Modi to come to the Parliament and talk on Manipur."

On Monday, both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned as the opposition shouted 'Modi Sarkar Shame Shame', 'PM Modi Jawab Do', 'Manipur Wants Justice' slogans. Notably, the first two days of the monsoon session last week saw a similar ruckus leading to nearly zero functioning of Parliament.
