The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) concluded its national convention with resounding support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, citing his leadership in various aspects of governance. On the final day of the convention, amidst chants of "Jai Shri Ram," the party passed a resolution applauding PM Modi's role in the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. It also hit out at the Opposition I.N.D.I.A. bloc over the demand for a nationwide caste census.
The resolution shared on the party's X handle stated, "Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has witnessed significant strides in various sectors, including infrastructure, agriculture, and women's empowerment. The construction of the Ram temple stands as a testament to the government's commitment to upholding cultural and religious heritage."
The convention also saw the passage of a resolution honouring former Prime Ministers and other notable figures, including Lal Krishna Advani, with the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour. The resolution was passed as a mark of respect for their contributions to the nation.
The BJP resolution highlighted PM Modi's efforts towards a developed India, stating, "Under PM Modi's leadership, the nation has seen unprecedented progress, with initiatives like the Ram temple construction symbolising our commitment to cultural resurgence."
New Parliament Building: Symbol of Justice and Progress
Last year, India witnessed the inauguration of the new Parliament building, which the BJP hailed as a symbol of justice and democracy. The convention underscored the significance of this architectural marvel, emphasising its role in shaping a "New India" aligned with the aspirations and needs of its citizens.
Critiquing the opposition's boycott of the event, the resolution stated, "The Congress-led opposition's decision to boycott the inauguration is regrettable, given their previous support for the construction of a new Parliament building during their tenure."
Women's Reservation, ISRO Milestones
Acknowledging PM Modi's commitment to women's empowerment, the convention celebrated the passage of the Women Reservation Act, 2023 aimed at fostering gender equality and opportunities for women in various spheres of life.
In addition, the convention hailed India's achievements in space exploration, including the Chandrayaan-2 mission's successful landing on the moon's south pole, marking a significant milestone in the country's space endeavours.
BJP Resolution Slams I.N.D.I.A. Over Caste Census Demand
The party hit out at the Opposition's I.N.D.I.A. bloc over demands for caste census, stating, "On one hand, where the 'INDI Alliance' is busy with divisive politics based on caste, Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made it clear that there are only four castes in the country: the Poor, the Farmers, the Youth, and Women. The focus of every scheme of the Narendra Modi government is to encompass the country's poor, farmers, youth, and women. This will not only empower them but also play a major role in making the country a leader in the world."
"The Narendra Modi government has decided to provide free food grains to more than 81 crore people for the next five years. Perhaps, this is the biggest welfare program of its kind in history," it added.

Economic Growth, Farmer Welfare
The BJP highlighted the government's efforts towards agricultural reform and economic growth, contrasting it with previous administrations. The notable achievements cited by the document include record procurement of crops, implementation of farmer welfare schemes like PM-Kisan and crop insurance, and the establishment of dedicated ministries for fisheries and animal husbandry.
"Under PM Modi's leadership, India has emerged as one of the fastest-growing economies globally, with a focus on inclusive growth and development," the resolution added.
The BJP credited PM Modi's leadership for steering the nation towards a path of progress and prosperity, reaffirming its dedication to the principles of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" (Together with All, Development for All).
