New Delhi: BJP MP and actor Paresh Rawal has ignited a storm on Twitter with his post against activist Arundhati Roy. The post was criticized heavily and shunned by netizens who did not expect a parliamentarian to launch such an offensive.


Rawal in his tweet said Arundhati Roy must be tied to the army jeep instead of a stone pelter.

The matter what Rawal was referring to was of the previous month where a Kashmiri man was allegedly tied to an army jeep using him as a human shield. The video was shared by former CM Omar Abdullah.


In the clip, an army soldier was heard saying, "Those who throw stones will meet the same fate." The video showed the army jeep moving ahead of an army patrol, while some villagers could be overheard that the youth had been picked up by the army.

Rawal is a National Award-winner. He became a BJP MP from the Ahmedabad East constituency during the 2014 general election.



Booker prize winner Arunadhati Roy has been a vocal critic of army’s presence in the Valley. She has often highlighted rights issue in the state and claimed that the disputed territory of Kashmir was not an integral part of India. The Ministry of Utmost Happiness, her second novel after The God of Small Things, is likely to release next month.
