"Unfortunately some Muslims do not have faith in the country's scientists and police. They do not have faith in the prime minister also. They have faith in Pakistan and can go there, but doubt the scientists," Som told reporters in Chandausi without substantiating his claims.

"All those living in India who do not trust the army of India, the Prime Minister of India, the law of India, the Parliament of India, the doctors, the scientists, even the life-saving vaccine, Why should they be staying here, why don't they go to Pakistan?" he tweeted in Hindi reiterating his stance.

About Aam Aadmi Party MLA Somnath Bharti who was arrested on Monday, he said that Bharti has spent "some months" in jail so he is speaking the language used by 'gundas' as he allegedly talks about attacking Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath.

Sangeet Som also brought in Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal stating that his intellect has been corrupted like that of Somnath Bharti.

This is not the first instance of him giving provocative remarks.

Earlier speaking about the Farmers' protest, he claimed that none of the people on dharna are farmers. "Rather they are anti-farmers," he said.

Som had attacked Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav saying "During his government, Uttar Pradesh turned into a Mughal sultanate but he would be the last ruler of the Mughal rule as he would not get another chance now".

The BJP MLA from UP’s Sardhana had also called the Taj Mahal "a blot on Indian culture".
