New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is likely to launch a nationwide campaign centered around the 'white paper' presented in Parliament by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday.

The central government’s ‘White Paper’ on the economy underscored the progress made by the NDA government over the past 10 years, highlighting the formidable challenges it tackled since assuming power.

According to PTI, BJP state units across India will focus on the contents of the 'white paper,' which highlights alleged mismanagement of the economy and governance issues, including national security, during the Congress-led UPA government.

The campaign aims to underscore the turnaround achieved by the Modi government.

As per PTI, the ruling party believes that this issue will strike a chord with the public ahead of the Lok Sabha polls scheduled for April-May.

It seeks to reinforce the message of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's effective leadership while highlighting the perceived shortcomings of the Congress and its allies.

The 'white paper', which was tabled earlier today in Lok Sabha, tore into the Congress-led UPA rule, stating that it had turned the Indian economy into a non-performing one through indiscriminate revenue expenditure, off-budget borrowings, and a pile of bad debts at banks.

In a 54-page document presented in Parliament, the Modi government detailed how it pulled the economy from being counted among the most fragile five in the world to being the fastest-growing and the most attractive investment destination, reported PTI.

The 'white paper' suggests that the Indian economy was directionless in 2014 due to policy missteps during the UPA's tenure, necessitating the Modi government to address challenges and restore vitality and confidence in the economy.

The White Paper concluded with a resolute affirmation, labelling the present era as India's "Kartavya Kaal," signifying a period of duty-bound dedication to the nation's growth and prosperity.
