New Delhi: BJP leaders Ganeshi Lal and Kummanam Rajasekharan were appointed as Governors of Odisha and Mizoram respectively on Friday.

In a Rashtrapati Bhavan communiqué, it was informed that Professor Ganeshi Lal will take over as the Governor of Odisha.

The post of Governor had been lying vacant after Naga leader S C Jamir completed his tenure.

Ganeshi Lal was formerly Haryana BJP chief.

Odisha was under Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik who had been given additional charge of the state.

In yet another statement, the BJP leader Kummanam Rajasekharan was appointed as the Governor of Mizoram.

Present Governor Nirbhay Sharma of Mizoram will be completing his tenure on May 28.

Rajasekharan is a renowned RSS person. He had given up his government job to become RSS Pracharak. He was appointed as state BJP Chief in the year 2015.
