Shahnawaz Hussain, a BJP legislator and former Union Minister, was rushed to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on Tuesday after having a heart attack. He was admitted at about 4:30 p.m, news agency ANI reported. Shahnawaz Hussain was hospitalised to Lilavati Hospital owing to a heart attack, according to doctor Jalil Parkar. His angioplasty procedure has been completed.
He was admitted to the hospital after he complaint about blood pressure related issues and uneasiness. The ECG and 2D Eco reports showed he suffered a minor heart attack. Angioplasty was done by Dr Jalil Parkar and Cardiologist Dr. Suresh Vijan at the hospital, PTI reported.
Shahnawaz Hussain's health has stabilised, and he will be transferred to the private ward shortly.
Earlier in the day, Hussain, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party's Central Election Committee, congratulated Neha Thakur for winning India's first medal in Sailing at the Asian Games. Taking to X, Hussain stated: "In the Girl's Dinghy - ILCA 4 category, Neha secured the SILVER MEDAL. Her consistent performance throughout the competition has earned her a well-deserved place on the podium."

During the Vajpayee administration, the BJP leader held several portfolios, including Minister of State for Food Processing Industries, Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Minister of Coal, Minister of Civil Aviation, and Minister of Textiles.
