New Delhi: All India Majilis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi took a dig at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over his saga of switching alliances saying the latter, at times, cosies up with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and sometimes ditches the BJP-led NDA to stitch up an alliance with RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav.

As speculations are rife over a possible flip-flop of Nitish Kumar, Owaisi retweeted one of his old videos where he can be heard mocking the Bihar CM over his history of jumping ship as per political convenience.

Drawing an analogy with the now outlawed practice of ‘triple talaq’, Owaisi mocked Kumar saying he sometimes gives talaq to PM Modi while at times he dumps the former to get into an alliance with Tejashwi.

Ye kaunsi tumhari siyasat hain ke tum kabhi Modi se nikaah kar lete ho toh kabhi Tejashwi se? Tum kabhi Modi ko teen talaq keh dete ho toh kabhi Tejashwi ko teen talaq. Arey akhir tum ho kya? Tum thehroge ya palat jaoge? (What kind of politics do you engage in? You sometime cosy up with PM Modi while at times you stitch up an alliance with Tejashwi. You dump Modi while at times you ditch Tejashwi. What are you? Would you side with one alliance or would you again flip,” the firebrand leader could be heard saying in his trademark style.

Notably, the political uncertainty in Bihar has been growing with reports over Nitish’s possible return to NDA amid a discord between Nitish’s JD(U) and RJD.

However, this is not the first time that Nitish might jump ship. In his political career spanning several decades, he has switched alliances at least five times, earning the moniker “palturam”.
