Sheikhpura Nagar Parishad Election Winners
Deputy Chief Councilor candidate Sonu Devi is ahead of her rival candidate by 642 votes. Sonu Kumar has won as Chief Councillor candidate from Barbigha Municipal Council. Nidhi Kumari won as Deputy Chief Councillor.
Buxar Nagar Parishad Election Winners
Rajkumari Devi, Ajay Chowdhary, Pushpa Yadav, Jhabbu Rai, Deepak Singh, Shakuntala Devi and Rekha Kumari have won.
Gopalganj Panchayat Election Winners
Kriti Kumar wins from Ward No 9; Rahul Kumar wins from ward No 10.
Sikandra Nagar Panchayat Election Winners
Ward 1-Anita Devi, Ward 2- Gopal Kumar, Ward 2- Rajesh Mishra, Ward 4- Anil Shah, Ward 5- Sameer Hussain, Ward 6- Rekha Devi, Ward 7- Pravesh Kumar
Amarpur Nagar Panchayat Election Winners
Nagesh Tapasvi won from Ward No 2, Seema Devi from Ward No 3 and Umesh Rajak Ward from No 4.
Katoria Nagar Panchayat Election Winners
Geeta Devi won from Ward No 1 and Uday Kumar Gupta won from Ward No 2.
Shahdat Hussain won from Ward No 2 in Bausi Nagar Panchayat.
Background
The counting of votes for the first phase of Bihar Nagar Nikay Chunav began at 8 am today. The final results will be announced by today evening. The first phase of voting was held on December 18.
The Bihar municipal corporation elections are being held for 224 wards in two phases. Out of 224 wards, voting was held for 156 wards, which include 68 city councils and 88 city panchayats, in the first phase.
According to State Election Commissioner, a total of 59.62 per cent of polling happened in the first phase- out of which 57.34 per cent were men and 59.33 per cent were women.
In the first phase, votes were cast for a total of 3658 seats, including 3346 for Ward Councillor, 156 for Deputy Chief Councilor, and 156 for Chief Councillor.
The second phase of polling will take place on December 28 and the results will be declared on December 30.
