Former Union minister and former Janata Dal (United) president RCP Singh joined Bharatiya Janata Party in Delhi today. Last year in August, Singh announced his exit from JDU after the party sought a reply on corruption allegations. Singh's resignation came after the party sent a notice to him over corruption allegations. JD (U) issued a show-cause notice to RCP Singh over 'discrepancies in immovable properties and he was asked to file his reply at the earliest. "Everyone calls Nitish Kumar the PM. I also told him that you were PM, are PM and will remain PM. PM stands for Paltimar. How many times has he betrayed," R.C.P. Singh said after joining the saffron party as quoted by the news agency ANI.

"A complaint has been received with evidence from two associates of Nalanda District Janata Dal (U), in which it was mentioned that discrepancies in immovable properties registered from 2013-2022 in his name (RCP Singh) and that of his family were noticed," the showcase notice read, as quoted by ANI.

Last year in September Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also alleged that the BJP wanted to make RCP Singh the Eknath Shinde of Bihar and isolate the Janata Dal-United party. Earlier, RCP Singh had alleged that the focus of Nitish Kumar is only to garner support of the opposition in his bid to become the Prime Ministerial candidate.

"Ever since he (Nitish Kumar) became the chief minister in 2020, he is not fulfilling the responsibility of the CM. Instead, he has started paying more attention to how the people of the opposition would support him in making him the Prime Ministerial candidate," he said, as quoted by ANI. In 2022, Nitish Kumar dumped BJP and joined hands with Tejashwi Yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal, the Congress and other parties to form a 'mahagathbandhan' and govern Bihar.
