While on one hand the winning alliance National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is set to have a legislative party meet on Sunday (November 15) to discuss major decision about the formation of their government in the state, there is a buzz that the Dalit leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kameshwar Chaupal is likely to become the next Bihar Deputy Chief Minister. He may replace Sushil Kumar Modi and bag the Deputy CM post. ALSO READ | Bihar: 'NDA Legislature Party Meet On November 15, Key Decisions To Be Taken,' Says Nitish Kumar

Chaupal, who laid the foundation stone for Ram Mandir at the shilanyas site in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya in 1989, is currently a member of Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust.

Kameshwar Chaupal has studied from Madhubani district of Bihar. It was here that he came in contact with the Sangh. After graduation, he had joined the Sangh completely. After this, the Sangh made him the district pracharak of Madhubani district. The RSS has given him the status of first Karsevak.

It may be noted that Chaupal has never won any elections. In 1991, Chaupal had contested from Rosera Lok Sabha seat and was defeated by Lok Janshakti Party founder Ram Vilas Paswan. Again in 1995 Bihar Assembly Elections, he contested from Bakhari seat in Begusarai but lost. Then in 2014 elections, Chaupal fought against Pappu Yadav's wife Ranjeet Ranjan from Supaul seat but lost the elections that time as well.

Meanwhile a key meeting of NDA leaders was held at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's residence in Patna on Friday. Few hours later, Nitish Kumar tenderer his resignation from the post to Governor Phagu Chauhan.
