Chirag Paswan held a press conference on Wednesday and reiterated his ‘will not support Nitish Kumar’ jibe. “There will never be my support for Nitish Kumar and Sushil Modi. If he continues to become the Chief Minister of my state, there will not be my support at the state level...We will continue supporting PM Modi at the centre,” he said while addressing the media.

He appreciated the efforts put up by the party workers and the courage by LJP leaders who dared to go solo in the polls.

“Happy that Bihar gave love to LJP, around 25 Lakh voters trusted 'Bihar First, Bihari First' & we secured 6% votes while contesting alone. We were called 'pichhlaggu party' that can do something only with other's support. We showed courage,” he said.

When NDA’s victory became clear on the counting day, Chirag described the Bihar polls results as a "victory" of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying the people have shown their trust in him.

With his party winning only one seat while being instrumental in the defeat of the BJP's ally JD(U) in many seats, Paswan tweeted that he was "proud" that his party did not bend down for power. His party had won two seats in the 2015 polls.

"All LJP candidates fought gloriously on their own without any alliance. The party's vote share has increased. It had gone to the polls with the resolve of 'Bihar first Bihari first'. It has been strengthened in every district. This is bound to benefit the party in the future," he said, while thanking people.
