Bhiwani Incident: In a shocking development, the family of the accused Srikant has alleged that police assaulted his pregnant wife due to which her child died, reported ANI. The wife of the accused told the agency that some people came into the house and started fighting with the family. She said that in the scuffle, someone pushed the door due to which she got hurt and her child died.
"Some people came and they started fighting with my in-laws. They came to my door & pushed it, during which I got hurt in my stomach & my child died," the wife of the accused was quoted as saying by ANI.
She added, "I don’t know who pushed the door, or who hit me but they came at night to investigate. Why did they come at night? They came to find my husband Srikant. They started breaking the furniture and other things in the house."
Bharatpur SP denied the charges of the family and said, "The police did not go inside the accused family's home. The accused was not at home. They found his brothers. Thus, they did some questioning and then came back."
"They (family) are putting false accusations," said SP, as quoted by ANI.
Reacting to the accusations, Nuh SP Varun Singla said that Haryana and Nuh police had no involvement in the alleged incident. However, he said that an Additional SP has been asked to investigate the matter.
"This is a very sad incident. The Haryana Police & Rajasthan police are cooperating in the investigation. According to our facts, the Haryana police & Nuh police had no involvement in this. As the allegations are serious we have asked Additional SP for the investigation. Whatever leads he is getting via social media for the incident & allegations will be fixed. We will take action if there is any negligence from our side & our team," said SP Varun Singla, quoted ANI.
Earlier, Rinku Saini, who was arrested by the Rajasthan Police in connection with the alleged abduction and murder of two men, told investigators that they were taken to the Haryana Police by cow vigilantes, PTI quoted an officer as saying. The police officer said his claim would be verified.
"Saini has claimed during interrogation that Junaid and Nasir were taken to Haryana Police. The claim will be verified," Inspector General of Police of Bharatpur range Gaurav Srivastava told reporters, as quoted by PTI. Saini, 32, a resident of Firozpur Jhirka in Haryana's Nuh district, was remanded in five-day police custody on Saturday.
The claim made by the accused corroborates the statement of Mohammad Jabir, a relative of the deceased. According to Mohammad Jabir, the two were first taken to the Firozpur Jhirka police station in Haryana but police refused to take their custody as their condition was serious, PTI reported. Subsequently, they were taken to Loharu in the Bhiwani district.
