New Delhi: Rinku Saini, who was arrested by the Rajasthan Police in connection with the alleged abduction and murder of two men, told investigators that they were taken to the Haryana Police by cow vigilantes, an officer said on Saturday, as reported by the news agency PTI. The police officer said his claim would be verified.
"Saini has claimed during interrogation that Junaid and Nasir were taken to Haryana Police. The claim will be verified," Inspector General of Police of Bharatpur range Gaurav Srivastava told reporters, as quoted by PTI. Saini, 32, a resident of Firozpur Jhirka in Haryana's Nuh district, was remanded in five-day police custody on Saturday.
The claim made by the accused corroborates the statement of Mohammad Jabir, a relative of the deceased. According to Mohammad Jabir, the two were first taken to the Firozpur Jhirka police station in Haryana but police refused to take their custody as their condition was serious, PTI reported. Subsequently, they were taken to Loharu in the Bhiwani district.

Earlier on Wednesday, Nasir (25) and Junaid alias Juna (35), residents of Ghatmeeka village in Bharatpur district of Rajasthan, were allegedly abducted by cow vigilantes, and their bodies were found inside a burnt car in Loharu in Bhiwani in Haryana on Thursday morning. The Rajasthan Police booked five people in connection with the case and arrested one of them, Saini, Friday night. After the incident, a police team reached the spot with Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team experts to investigate the case and collect evidence.
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday condemned the alleged killing saying they were inhuman killings by a so-called 'Gau-Rakshak' gang. Owaisi also shared his thoughts on meeting with the family members of the deceased, Junaid and Nasir. He said, "At present, we're not confirmed whether we'll meet them or not? We're trying our best. Our local team will share the update", as quoted by news agency ANI.
Attacking BJP, Owaisi added, "One of the six people named in FIR for kidnapping and murder of Nasir and Junaid has a picture clicked with HM Amit Shah. The picture is two years old he is with him on his birthday. Haryana govt gives protection to such groups, police are afraid of them".
