Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, who is leading the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’, stopped at an roadside eatery in Halakura village in the Dhubri district of Assam. Dhubri was the last stop of his journey through the state before he entered Cooch Behar in West Bengal. Rahul Gandhi and his party leaders were seen grabbing a quick bite while having a conversation.
Meanwhile, the eatery owner said that he was pleasantly surprised and said that he was very happy that Rahul Gandhi stopped at his shop. "Rahul Gandhi's visit to my tea stall comes as a surprise. It is good to have him here," he said.
The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra hit rocky waters in Assam on Tuesday after CM Himanta Biswa Sarma ordered an FIR against Rahul Gandhi, KC Venugopal, Kanhaiya Kumar, and other party workers for "violence, provocation, and assault". This was after a clash erupted between the police and Congress workers as Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra continued in Assam's Guwahati. The state government and the Congress locked horns over the rally in Assam with the grand old party alleging that the march was attacked by 'BJP goons' on Saturday.

Later, CM Biswa Sarma further attacked Rahul Gandhi and stated that the Congress’ main aim was to destabilise the state, adding that the former Congress president would be arrested after the Lok Sabha polls. “If we arrest him before that, it will be politicised. Now the case has been registered, SIT will investigate, and we have evidence”, the CM said while speaking to the media.
Meanwhile, as the Rahul Gadhi-led 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' enters West Bengal, the Trinamool Congress has made it clear that it will fight the Lok Sabha polls solo.
A senior TMC leader told PTI, "We haven't received a formal invitation from the Congress. And even if we receive it we are most unlikely to join it."
The Yatra flagged off from Manipur's Imphal on January 14 will conclude in Mumbai on March 20.
