New Delhi: A video from Bhadohi district of Uttar Pradesh showing a daughter crying and accusing the policemen of killing her father has gone viral on social media. The elder daughter of Ramji Mishra has alleged a custodial death of her father by the policemen of Gopiganj police station. The girl identified as Deepali Mishra was seen crying in the video and accusing the policemen of allegedly killing her father by beating him up mercilessly. She sought help from the government after questionable death in father's police station.


After the video surfaced and went viral on social media people started commenting and tagging the UP police. Soon the matter reached the DGP Office following which the CM office ordered magistrate inquiry into the matter. Deepali is now a bit relieved as Magistrate Investigation has been ordered and SHO Sunil Verma has been sent to lines.

Insight into the matter



• Ramji Mishra had an argument with his real brother Ashok Mishra on June 29 in Foolbagh district of Bhadohi. There was some land dispute between the two.
• Following the fight, the Gopiganj police took both the brothers into their custody.
• The policemen then reportedly beat them up and put them in the lock-up.
• Later, Ramji complained of uneasiness and fell unconscious.
• The policemen took him to the hospital, but the doctors declared Ramji Mishra dead on arrival.
• Among the three daughters, the elder daughter Deepali alleged that her father was beaten to death by the police.
• She has demanded the prosecution of murder accused on the station officer Sunil Verma.
• According to the post-mortem report, it has been reported that Ramji Mishra died due to shock and there there are no signs of injury on his body.

The death news of Ramji erupted a flare among the people. On Friday, the Allahabad-Varanasi Highway was jammed by the furious masses. Bhadohi's SP, Sakhindra Patel has said that they have asked the ASP rank police officer to investigate the matter. He added that besides ordering a police inquiry, the station officer of the Gopiganj police station, Sunil Verma, has been removed for now.
