West Bengal minister Subrata Saha passed away due to a cardiac arrest on Thursday in Murshidabad district. He was 69 years old and is survived by his wife, son, and daughter-in-law.
Saha, the minister of state for food processing, was recently hospitalized after experiencing chest pain and later died at Berhampore Medical College and Hospital. He had previously undergone gall bladder surgery.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari expressed their condolences for Saha's passing. Banerjee stated that Saha's "social and political contributions will be remembered forever" and Adhikari tweeted that he was "deeply anguished" by the news of Saha's death.
