Social activist Anna Hazare on Friday voiced his displeasure over Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal “making liquor policies” and stated that the arrest of the AAP chied “is because of his own deeds,” news agency ANI reported. Anna Hazare remarked that they had previously worked against liquor, but now CM Kejriwal was formulating a policy related to it. Speaking with media, Hazare who along with Kejriwal led the Lokpal movement in the early 2010s, stated: “I am very upset that Arvind Kejriwal, who used to work with me, raise his voice against liquor, is now making liquor policies. His arrest is because of his own deeds."

Hazare and Kejriwal had undertaken numerous fasts unto death during the agitation, advocating for an anti-corruption ombudsman Lokpal from the Congress government at the Centre.

A vast number of people had rallied behind these two leaders. However, following the dwindling of the protest's momentum, Kejriwal, along with several other members of the non-profit India Against Corruption, established the Aam Aadmi Party.

Hazare, who used to call that the protest wasn't political, had expressed displeasure at Kejriwal's move to form the AAP.

Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a case related to money laundering linked to the excise policy scam on Thursday night. The federal probe agency conducted searches at Kejriwal’s residence in Civil Lines. The arrest came after the AAP leader skipped as many as nine summons from the agency in connection with the case.
