The month of November is the month of festivals. There are many festivals in November including Diwali, Bhaiya Dooj, Govardhan Puja, and Chhath Puja. In such a situation, banks will be shut on festivals. According to RBI's calendar, there will be holidays on different days in different states. As per the notification issued, banks in Bengaluru and Imphal will remain closed on November 1 due to Kannada Rajyotsav in November. Also, banks will not work due to Narak Chaturdashi on November 3 in Bengaluru.


When will there be holidays in Bihar (Public Holiday in Bihar/Bank Holiday in Bihar)  



  • Public holiday on Diwali on November 4 and November 5, 2021

  • Bhai Dooj holiday - November 6, 2021.

  • Banks in Patna and Ranchi will remain closed on the occasion of Chhath Puja - November 10 and 11, 2021.

  • Holiday due to the second Saturday of the month on November 13, 2021.

  • Guru Nanak Jayanti holiday on November 19, 2021.

  • November 27, 2021, will be the fourth Saturday holiday.


Government Holiday in Uttar Pradesh (Public Holiday in UP/Bank Holiday IN UP)



  • Diwali holiday - November 4 and November 5, 2021.

  • Bhai Dooj holiday on November 6, 2021.

  • Holiday due to the Second Saturday of the month on November 13, 2021.

  • Guru Nanak Jayanti holiday on November 19, 2021.

  • November 27, 2021, will be a holiday being the fourth Saturday.


Also on November 7, 14, 21, and 28 will be Sunday holidays.  


Important holidays in other states



  • Apart from Diwali, Bhai Dooj, and Guru Nanak Jayanti, all banks in Meghalaya will remain closed on the occasion of the Wangala festival on November 12.

  • Meghalaya will also have a holiday on the occasion of Seng Kut Snem on November 23.

  • Banks will remain closed on the occasion of Kanakadas Jayanti in Karnataka on November 22.
