New Delhi: Bal Thackeray was an Indian journalist and politician born on 23rd January 1926 in Pune, Maharashtra. Thackeray’s full name was Bal Keshav Thackeray and he was also known as Balasaheb Thackeray. He founded the Shiv Sena, a right-wing pro-Marathi and Hindu nationalist party active mainly in the state of Maharashtra. The honorary man who was known for his rigid and often hateful Hindutva ideology had inspired thousands of people across Maharashtra and beyond to stand up for the state of Maharashtra. He took his last breathe on 17th November 2012 in Mumbai as he died due to a cardiac arrest. Today is his seventh death anniversary.
