Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje along with Baba Ramdev practised Yoga at Kota, Rajasthan and led the celebrations.
Managing Director of Patanjali Ayurved Limited and co-founder of Patanjali Yogpeeth, Acharya Balkrishna was also a part of the celebration.
A whole new Guinness World Record has been set today, as Baba Ramdev managed to gather more number of people as compared to the 55,000 who gathered last year in Mysore.
The exact figures aren’t available yet but around 1.05 lakh (still counting) people performed Yoga together this time.
Acknowledging the participation of the students in massive number, the Yog Guru tweeted: “Yog is the best way for the students to de-stress themselves. Thousands of students have joined Yoga in Kota, the education capital of Rajasthan.”
“Tomorrow, 100 world records are going to be created at the same place here in Kota. From the past three days, such records have been created here and tomorrow, we will register our name in Guinness Book of World Records” Ramdev was quoted by ANI on Wednesday.
He further added that it would be great to have Prime Minister Narendra Modi there.
"While 95 world records have already been achieved, five more will be created at the mega yoga event in Kota on Thursday”, he said yesterday.
Hailing Yoga as the symbol of peace, Ramdev opined that in the form of Yoga, India is inspiring countries world over.
The initiative towards Yoga day was first taken by Prime Minister Modi during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on 27 September 2014 which soon turned into a global celebration.
