Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took a swipe at the Congress party on Wednesday (November 29), responding to a viral video featuring Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi dancing to a political song. In a post on his official social media account, Sarma expressed dismay, saying, "Yesterday, as an anxious nation immersed itself in prayers and awaited the safety of our workers from Uttarakhand, the Family as usual was indulging in merry-making - singing and dancing".
The Assam Chief Minister went on to assert, "Be it 26/11 or any other solemn occasion - it is always Entertainment First for the Family".
The video, capturing Congress leaders, including Rahul and Priyanka, gained traction on social media, surfacing during the ongoing rescue operations in Uttarkashi to retrieve 41 workers trapped in the aftermath of a landslide that led to the collapse of a section of the Silkyara tunnel on November 12.

On the final day of campaigning for the assembly elections, Vadra attacked the ruling BRS government and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao over unemployment, corruption, and price rises in the state. "Your promises were broken one after the other. You were all agitating for Telangana. Telangana was formed as a result of the sacrifices of young people, farmers, and sisters (women)," she explained.
On Tuesday, successful rescue efforts concluded as all 41 workers were safely extracted from the site. Subsequently, they were airlifted to AIIMS-Rishikesh for further medical examinations. The workers' families and the entire country rejoiced as the labourers started coming out of the tunnel, bringing an end to the 17-day-long rescue operation.
