Former BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover took a jibe at Suhail Sameer who quit as the company's CEO on Tuesday, January 3. Taking to Twitter, Ashneer Grover, who resigned as the Managing Director of the fintech company in March last year, shared a poem in which he described Sameer as 'nalla'. Ha also took a dig at Shashvat Nakarni, the founder, and said he should 'man up and take care of the business.'
"Poem for start of 2023: Chala gaya Suhail Sameer - he was a nalla ! Shashvat - why don't you man up and sambhalo the galla?!'For my English speaking friends: 1) Nalla is incompetent incapable and 2) Galla is business / helm of affairs," wrote Grover on his Twitter handle.
After stepping down as CEO, Suhail will now take over as its strategic advisor starting January 7, according to a statement released by the company on Tuesday. While, Nalin Negi, the fintech firm's current CFO, will take over as the CEO on an interim basis.
"This will ensure a smooth transition for current CFO, Nalin Negi who has been appointed interim CEO to partner with senior executives to bolster execution in all phases of the company's business," the company's statement read.
Suhail Sameer was instrumental in launching and managing the RP Sanjeev Goenka Group's $50 million venture investing arm prior to joining BharatPe in August 2020.
Last year, BharatPe was hit with a wave of resignations at the top level. Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Vijay Aggarwal, Chief Product OIfficer (CPO) Rajat Jain, and head of PostPe Nehul Malhotra among others quit.
