Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said that some people had tried to jeopardise the atmosphere in Punjab in recent days. Praising the Bhagwant Mann-led government in the state, Kejriwal said that "law and order in the state is our priority".
Earlier in the day, Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann and his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal laid the cornerstone for the Guru Ravidas Bani Adhiyan Center at Ballan in Punjab's Jalandhar. As the first installment, they gave the head of Dera Sachkhand Ballan a check for Rs 25 crore.
In his speech following the event, he stated that in recent days, certain people have attempted to poison the atmosphere in Punjab, but we will not allow anyone to disturb the harmony.
The Delhi chief minister stated that sometimes difficult decisions must be made in order to maintain law and order and that the AAP government led by Bhagwant Mann is capable of making tough decisions.
Kejriwal also said that the Bhagwant Mann government managed the situation really effectively, adding that they had the situation under control without firing a single bullet or shedding any blood. He said that those who were attempting to disrupt Punjab's communal unity and tranquility are now afraid and on the run.
It should be noted that Amritpal Singh, a Khalistan sympathiser, is still on the run. "You have 80,000 cops, how did Amritpal Singh escape?" The state government was questioned by the Punjab and Haryana High Court earlier this week.
Kejriwal further stated that anyone who endangers Punjab's peace or distributes drugs will not be spared. When 3 crore Punjabis join the government, no drug dealer will be brave enough to sell drugs.
He asserted that the state's law and order situation has improved since the inception of the Aam Aadmi Party government, as past governments' MLAs and ministers had "settings" with gangsters, mafia, and criminals. But, the 'AAP' government has no such agreement with anyone, which is why gangsters and mafia are suddenly being prosecuted.
In his address to the Sangat, Kejriwal stated that Guru Ravidas ji's holy Bani will reach every corner of Punjab and the world through the Guru Ravidas Bani Study Center.
"I consider myself quite fortunate to have had the opportunity to participate in such noble and virtuous work," he said.
Kejriwal On Health System:
About the healthcare system, Kejriwal said that we improved and upgraded government facilities in Delhi and that medicines, testing, and treatment are all provided for free. The Bhagwant Maan government has also begun work on revamping Punjab's government hospitals, according to a release issued by the party.
Every street in Delhi now has a mohalla clinic. In five years, "I opened 550 mohalla clinics in Delhi. In just one year, Maan Sahib has opened 500 mohalla clinics in Punjab," he said, as stated in the release.
Kejriwal On State's Drugs Issue:
On the issue of drugs, the Delhi chief minister stated that if three crore people band together with the government, no one will have the courage to sell drugs.
"All drug peddlers will be caught and jailed. Because the Aam Aadmi Party has no affiliations, all gangsters and criminals have been apprehended and imprisoned during the last year. Punjab is gradually regaining its 'Rangla Punjab' identity:" Kejriwal said.
