Thousands of people, including women and children, have been protesting for over a month at Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh and nearby Jamia Millia Islamia against the CAA and the National Register of Citizens (NRC).
Addressing a press conference, Patra said “At Shaaheen Bagh, small girls with hijab are made to shout ‘PM should be killed’. I am not pointing fingers at the girls but it needs to be known who are trying to brainwash the little girls who are innocent and bright students.”
Patra also slammed Congress leader Ashok Chavan for saying: "We formed the Govt in Maharashtra with Shiv Sena on the appeal of our Muslim brothers. Muslims were saying that BJP is their prime enemy. Thus, we should make the Govt with Shiv Sena to keep them out of power."
“Does this mean the Congress forms Govt asking the Muslims and Muslims only? Do they not care about the Hindus or the other communities,” the BJP leader questioned.
Lashing out at the Congress further, Patra said the Congress party should be renamed from Indian National Congress to MLC - Muslim League Congress. “They only talk about Muslims and try to polarize them,” he added.
He also trained guns at NCP leader Jitendra Awhad and AIMIM’s Akbaruddin Owaisi for their recent remarks.
